In the wake of the natural disaster in Haiti, people have tried to help in any way they can. The musicians in Louisville Kentucky are not different, on Wednesday February 10 Bellarmine University will be hosting a Haiti benefit concert with will feature local artists including; The Joey Blue Band, Collateral, The Robber Barons (this is my personal band) and The Highlight Reel. All four of these bands consist of Bellarmine Students making the event not only local to the city but also local to the school.
While I am a member of one of the bands performing, which admittedly gives me some bias about which band is my favorite, all four of the bands bring a different element to the concert. The Joey Blue Band has a soft and soothing acoustic sound, which complements the lyrics of many of the songs. Then Collateral provides mixture of rock and blues for the audience. Which leads into the alternative 90’s rock style of The Robber Barons, which will feature many of your favorite songs from the decade. Then the show will switch direction with The Highlight Reel as they bring their powerpop style to the stage.
Over all the concert is shaping up to be afun night for a great cause. The Concert will be free but they are asking for a donation at the door. Start time for the Show is 7:30 pm at Bellarmine University.
